Octopus Harness
octopus rehab harness

The Octopus car harness has been designed both for individuals who are too large for a car seat but still require additional support and individuals who require a more secure hold than what the car’s own 3-point safety system can provide. In order to cater to a variety of users, the harness is available in two sizes. For our smaller users, this harness can be used in conjunction with booster seats and so helps bridge the tricky transition from the support available in car seats to the often lack of support from booster seats. If you are unsure what age / size children can be in a car seat versus a booster seat, kindly check the law on the gov.uk website which you can also access by clicking here. Just is the case with car seats/booster seats, there is also a minimum and maximum sizing and weight range for this car harness which you can view on the Technical / Sizing Chart tab. You may use the harness outside of these parameters but you must ensure the harness fits, does not cause harm/discomfort to the product user and you have complied with U.K. car seat/booster seat legislation.

The Octopus harness is especially suitable for individuals with muscular functional limitations, postural instability, weak muscle tone, hyperactivity / high urge to move, perceptual disorders, autism as well as individuals prone to unbuckling / have difficulty understanding danger.

The Octopus car harness offers a multitude of features which include lockable belt buckles to prevent dangerous unbuckling during the car journey; postural support for the shoulders, upper body and pelvis to help maintain optimal posture during transport; and a padded vest designed to be not only soft and comfortable but to prevent pinching. For more information about the standard features and optional extras, please view the Features, Options & Images tab.

Please note: The Octopus positioning harness is not classified as a safety harness but as a medical device for positioning. To comply with safety regulations, the vehicle seat belt MUST ALWAYS be worn over the Octopus positioning harness.
